Editorial Producer (1-Year Fixed Term)

Mozilla Foundation is a non-profit building a better technology future — powered by people, open by design, fueled by imagination.

We deliver people-first alternatives to today’s extractive systems. We build side by side with developers, innovators and advocates, united in the belief that a better technology future is not only possible — it’s ours to create.

Team

The Strategic Communications team leads how Mozilla Foundation shows up in the world. We ensure Mozilla speaks with a consistent, compelling voice that meets the moment — grounded in our mission and values.

We serve as a trusted internal partner, bringing insight into audiences, channels, trends, and platforms, and translating that knowledge into inclusive, engaging storytelling. Our work builds global understanding, support, and participation in Mozilla’s mission.

The Editorial Producer plays a critical role in bringing Mozilla Foundation’s flagship editorial platform, Nothing Personal, to life — by ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and high-quality execution across stories, collaborators, and channels. This is a one-year fixed term position.

Job responsibilities

Here are some projects you'll likely work on in your first 6 months:

  • Owning and maintaining Nothing Personal’s editorial calendar, contributor database, contracts, and production workflows
  • Driving the production and launch of monthly editorial features — from planning and fact-checking through publication and distribution
  • Managing the moving parts across freelance writers, editors, designers, humor collaborators, and external partners to ensure timely delivery

As an Editorial Producer at Mozilla, you will…

  • Partner closely with the Executive Editor to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of Nothing Personal
  • Produce and publish monthly stories in the CMS, and troubleshoot issues in partnership with the web platforms team
  • Track and report on editorial performance, including web traffic, social engagement, and paid marketing campaigns
  • Support content strategies across social copy, newsletters, email campaigns, course materials, and refreshed or repackaged archival content
  • Ensure consistent integration of Mozilla Foundation’s brand design, style guide, verbal identity, and core messages across channel
  • Research and support external vendors for long-term projects and commissions, including activations, books, or artworks
  • Track timelines and ensure timely delivery and fulfillment, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress

Your Professional Profile:

  • This is a highly operational role — you are deeply organized and comfortable managing multiple moving parts at once
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, communications, editorial production, or a related field
  • Strong project management skills, with experience coordinating cross-functional and external collaborators
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, creative environments and juggling competing priorities
  • Curious, proactive, and not afraid to ask questions or propose bold ideas

We Are Excited To See Any Additional Experience With:

  • Editorial or magazine production workflows
  • CMS platforms and web publishing tools
  • Freelance contract management and contributor coordination
  • Media analytics, performance reporting, or audience insights
  • Merchandise production or vendor coordination
  • Creative collaborations across journalism, design, humor, or culture
