97.0 Firefox for Android Release

February 8, 2022

Version 97.0, first offered to Release channel users on February 8, 2022

We'd like to extend a special thank you to all of the new Mozillians who contributed to this release of Firefox!

New

  • We now show you a prompt when you attempt to leave private browsing with active downloads. We won’t let you lose that important information!

Fixed

  • We’ve improved performance when it comes to a cold start.

  • You’ll see we’ve fixed the order of items in your history. They go from newest to oldest, just as you’d expect them to.

  • Now, Talkback reads "Button" aloud just once for the "Show all" button on the home screen–as it should!

  • Tab group titles are no longer the wrong color when in private mode! Text is now easily visible.

  • And when dark theme/private mode is enabled, you can see the icons for bookmarks, folders and downloads. Voila!

  • Plus, the app no longer crashes when returning to the add-on details menu after changing your device language.

  • Firefox is no longer slow to search stored passwords. We’re all about saving you time!

  • Various security fixes
