Version 106.0a1, first offered to Nightly channel users on August 22, 2022

Firefox Nightly gets updated every day and as a consequence, the release notes for the Nightly channel are updated continuously to reflect features that have reached sufficient maturity to benefit from community feedback and bug reports.

  • The PDF viewer allows text writing, drawing and signature.

  • Firefox can now cache all accessibility information from all documents in the Firefox main process. This improves performance for screen readers and other applications which use accessibility APIs. This can be enabled in the Nightly Experiments section of Settings.

Web Platform

  • Major improvements of our WebRTC capabilities (libwebrtc library upgraded from version 86 to 103) with multiple improvements:

    • Windows and Wayland screen sharing improvements.
    • Lower CPU usage and increased frame rates during WebRTC screen capture on macOS.
    • Many RTP performance and reliability improvements.
    • Richer statistics.
