The Mozilla Festival (MozFest) team convenes our global community through virtual and face-to-face opportunities year-round in support of the overall objectives of Mozilla culminating with the annual Mozilla Festival event. We exemplify openness, inclusion, and federated design to build year round support for the internet health movement, driven by diverse, inclusive & vibrant communities working in collaboration.

We are seeking an individual to join our team as a Digital Production Coordinator.  You will support the technical production and delivery of the festival to help bring MozFest to life online! The Digital Production Coordinator provides support for digital production through management of community interfaces of virtual platforms. You will also support network growth through leadership of the Volunteer program. You are technically minded, but able to communicate technical information to wide audiences with different levels of understanding.

As a Digital Production Coordinator at Mozilla, you will…

  • Assist in running Mozilla’s community facing platforms including allocating and coordinating required documentation and tooling
    • Set up & handle curation platform administration, curation, emails, and scheduling
    • Deliver platform accounts and set permissions for volunteers, staff and contractors
    • Collect analytical data from platforms
  • Maintain and build specific content on our website using a content management system.
  • Co-develop and deliver training and support for the curation platform to staff and wranglers as well as more general training for different groups in the MozFest Community
    • Support event managers and facilitators use of platforms during fringe events
  • Co-lead MozFest Volunteer program with Volunteer Coordinators during the build-up to and during the event. Collaborating with previous volunteers to produce volunteer orientation and documentation.
    • Match volunteers to opportunities that suit their skills, and provide updates to schedules and plans for event delivery related to their responsibilities
    • Be responsible for the Help Desk during the festival
  • Support wider community engagement and programming for Program Managers outside of festival season
  • Provide support across the Festival team and the wider Global Programs team activities to build a cohesive and accessible offering of our work

Your Professional Profile:

  • Experience working with remote global audiences, including communicating across diverse communities of different groups and skill levels to present technical information in an accessible manner to non-technical folks
  • Prior experience (about 2-3 years) in a technical support, virtual production support, or similar role with some experience training for or onboarding internal or external facing platforms
  • Self-initiative and ability to work independently and collaborate in cross-functional teams
  • Hands-on problem-solving ability with attention to detail and good follow-up / follow-through skills
  • Ability to adapt and pivot work quickly and efficiently, identifying and making the most of the opportunities or overcoming challenges
  • Strong personal organization skills with excellent time management and prioritize optimally.
  • Confidence in working through a fluid and continually evolving environment

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of web content management systems
  • Backend knowledge of video conferencing, virtual production software systems or live streaming
  • Meaningful experience from coordination or production roles in digital, marketing, television or events is a plus

Salary and Benefits Information:

The Mozilla Foundation is dedicated to fair and equitable compensation for our staff. We aim to pay a competitive and market-based salary based on the responsibilities and requirements of the role. We aim to offer at the midpoint of our salary ranges for the purposes of increasing inclusivity and fairness of our offer process and ensuring internal equity. We do not ask for, or take into account, salary histories in our offer process.

The base salary ranges, and the mid-point, for this role is listed below. We target the 75th percentile of market pay as a salary band midpoint for all levels, with 10% either side of the midpoint to create a salary range. These four countries are where we most commonly employ staff.

  • Germany: €62,976 - €76,971 (mid-point: €69,973)
  • UK: £35,846 - £43,812 (mid-point: £39,829)
  • Canada: $69,372 - $84,788 (mid-point: $77,080)
  • US: $59,888 - $73,197 (mid-point: $66,542)

We may also add in a geographic differential to this base salary based on the local job market. This would be applied to the above ranges depending on the successful candidate’s location. Below are some of the common cities in which we hire staff along with examples of salary ranges, with the geographical differential applied:

  • Inner London: £39,072 - £47,755 (mid-point: £43,413)
  • Toronto: $74,852 - $91,486 (mid-point: $83,169)
  • New York: $66,356 - $81,101 (mid-point: $73,729)
