The Company

A lot of companies say they’re “mission-driven”. Our unique corporate structure guarantees that every decision we make upholds our mission: to make sure the internet stays available, safe, and welcoming to everyone. Beholden to neither shareholders nor investors, Mozilla Corporation is wholly owned by the not-for-profit Mozilla Foundation.

Along with 20,000+ volunteer contributors and collaborators all over the world, Mozilla Corporation’s staff designs, builds, and distributes software that allows people to enjoy the internet on their own terms. Our flagship product — the Firefox browser — has expanded into a family of products that protects users and alerts them of risks.

The Opportunity

Do you enjoy planning, executing, and launching large and sophisticated software projects? Do you have a knack for driving consensus among teams with conflicting priorities? Can you move seamlessly between discussions with senior-level executives and front line engineers? • Partner with Product and Engineering to facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and commitments
  • Communicate and track program risks and flag problems before they happen
  • Drive ongoing process improvements to improve execution and efficiency of the teams within their domain area by pulling from standard methodologies or by introducing something new
  • Act as a conduit of information between engineering and other internal groups (both technical and non-technical) to ensure that decisions and status are understood

What You Bring

  • Many years experience managing software development programs
  • A deep understanding of the software product lifecycle and portfolio management
  • A track record of holding teams and individuals accountable to timelines and deliverables
  • Knowledge about online privacy and why it's important
  • Ability to build consensus and drive decision making when there are conflicting opinions and no clear answer
  • Experience working with a geographically distributed team
  • Proficiency in working with people ranging from VPs to junior engineers
  • Experience with a variety of software development methodologies, including Agile

Bonus Points For

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering.
  • Experience building consumer desktop and mobile products.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Bugzilla, GitHub, and Mercurial or similar.
  • Familiarity using an OKR framework to track progress.
